Digesting her surroundings and life experience, Kat writes from a place of sincerity and relatability, singing about love, loss and friendship. She writes with positivity, but also a shadow of honesty, giving an upbeat, reflective look of life.
Her vocals have a powerful, classic soul sound with a hint of R&B and Jazz. Growing up with influence from Beyonce, Britney Spears and Adele, her vocals have an early 2000s sound, but with a unique vintage twist. Heavily influenced by her background in Jazz, she draws influence from great Jazz singers such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fiztsgerald.
She has been gigging continuously for the past 5 years with various bands of all genres, both as a singer and session musician. In this time she has evolved a unique style of scatting and improv to produce a sound which reflects her jazz based origins.

Katryna Abel’s journey as a vocalist began at 16 when she moved to Brighton to study music. She quickly made a name for herself, performing across the city’s venues with her solo project before stepping into the live touring circuit. From Glastonbury to Boomtown and Secret Garden Party, she has become a festival regular, captivating audiences with her dynamic stage presence. Alongside her original music, Kat has built a strong reputation in the elite wedding and events sector, even performing for royalty with her function band, The Teapot Travellers.
Rooted in jazz and soul, her warm, expressive vocals have made her a sought-after singer across multiple genres, including folk, pop, dance music, and ska. Her versatility and deep connection to music continue to define her as both a powerful performer and a skilled session vocalist.
